Barcelona is a must to go in Spain. To admire Gaudí architecture, like Sagrada Familia or visit their beaches, the barceloneta or barrio gótico. Another place is “el mercado de San josé” or well known like La Boquería (La rambla 91). They don´t only sell fruits, veggies or jamón serrano, they also sell food to go. They make bunches so people can choose which one the want. You don´t speak spanish, english? it´s ok, for sure you will found someone who can help you with few words in your language. Years ago i was buying a sandwich there and one turkish guy started to speak to me in korean, so, La Boquería have surprises for you.
Also, if you walk by La Rambla, direction to Monumento a Colón (monument to Columbus) you will found a special ice cream shop, “Rocambolesc” ( La rambla 51-59). The pastry chef is Jordi Roca, the youngest of the Roca´s brothers. I tried the blood orange and mango ice cream. The funny thing about it, is that i didn´t realize that my mouth was painted in golden . I walked like that few blocks. The cover has mango flavor and gonna let your mouth with golden highlights.
In all Barcelona you can found fresh products and they are proud of them of course! they are next to the sea so you know what is the must to try, no? fishes and seafood. If you feel too lost, always look for reviews, at least can give you an idea about the place.
